Summary

Shaheen C K and Dimple Revankar Rally Past Seeded Pair in Semifinal

At 5-5 in the opening game, Shaheen C K and Dimple Revankar turned a level semifinal into a 15-12 win. Their four-rally burst put them 9-5 ahead, and although Ayaan Shaikh and Yasmin Sayed later trimmed the gap to 14-12, the third-seeded pair closed the game on the next rally.

The second game followed a different route. Ayaan and Yasmin led 8-6 at the interval, but Shaheen and Dimple answered with three straight rallies to move in front. The game was level again at 9-9 and 11-11 before the eventual winners edged ahead 13-11. Ayaan and Yasmin recovered to 13-13, yet Shaheen and Dimple won the final two rallies for a 15-13 finish and a 2-0 match victory.

The less obvious difference came after the interval: Shaheen and Dimple won seven of nine rallies, while Ayaan and Yasmin managed only two. Across the match, the winners also won 17 of 26 receiving rallies, compared with 16 of 29 for the second seeds. That receiving edge helped compensate for a relatively even start, with both pairs winning five of their 10 game-opening rallies.

The 26-minute result sends Shaheen C K and Dimple Revankar into match 15. Ayaan Shaikh and Yasmin Sayed were competitive in both games, but the decisive runs belonged to the third seeds.
