Keya Dessai needed only 11 minutes on Court 2 to move past Ananya Prabhudessai 15-3, 15-5 in the U11 Girls' Singles Round of 16, but the match had an early flicker of resistance before it settled into Keya's control.

Keya took the first seven rallies to lead 7-0. Ananya then answered with three straight points, narrowing the gap to 7-3 before Keya reached the interval at 8-3 and finished the game with seven consecutive rallies. The first game ended 15-3.

The second game began with another brief exchange: Ananya levelled at 1-1, but Keya won the next six rallies to lead 7-1 and held an 8-1 advantage at the interval. Ananya put together two separate two-point runs, reaching 3-9 and later 5-13, yet Keya closed the match by taking the final three rallies.

The less obvious edge was Keya's consistency at the start of games: she won nine of the 10 opening points recorded across the match. Her serve numbers were even stronger, with 26 points won from 30 serving opportunities, while Ananya won four of eight. Ananya's four-point serving total and four-point receiving total show that her eight points were split evenly between those situations, but Keya's 30 points came overwhelmingly on serve.

Ananya did not surrender a lead or recover from a deficit in the recorded comeback figures, while Keya's longest run reached eight rallies. Keya advances from the Round of 16; Ananya's run ends at 0-2 in games.
