Aswin Mannambalath and Shaheen C K needed every game of the final, beating top seeds Aryaman Saraf and Rudra Phadte 2–1 in 37 minutes to complete the BPS State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2026 men’s doubles draw in Navelim. The second seeds finished with four wins, an 8–2 game record and 109 minutes on court.
The event began with 20 entries, as 12 pairs contested qualifying for eight places. Four pairs advanced byes, while Sushil Nayak and Yash Kunkalienkar joined the main draw after qualifying as an unseeded pair. They then beat seventh seeds Mohammad Nadaf and Sanath Kamat 2–0 before edging Devansh Sakpal and Yousuf Shaikh 2–1 in the quarterfinal. Their run ended in the semifinal, where the top seeds won 2–0.
The Round of 16 reshaped the draw early. Fourth seeds Kamlesh Kanji and Parag Chauhan were eliminated by the qualifiers Devansh Sakpal and Yousuf Shaikh in a match with an aggregate point margin of zero; Devansh and Yousuf won the deciding game after overcoming a four-point deficit. Third seeds Arjun Rehani and Ayaan Shaikh also survived a deciding-game quarterfinal against eighth seeds Karan Dhavaskar and Soham Naik, while the second seeds handled sixth seeds Divyesh Shirsat and Fredrick Fernandes in two games.
Aswin and Shaheen then beat the third seeds 2–1 in the semifinal, winning both deciding games they played in the event. The final was the draw’s longest match and its sixth decider overall, with the champions taking 41 of the 71 recorded points. Every one of the 19 matches was umpire-scored and timed, closing a tournament in which the second seed defeated three seeded opponents.
