Amaira Dhumatker and Anvitha Poojari Sweep U11 Girls’ Doubles Title

Amaira Dhumatker and Anvitha Poojari completed a perfect run through the seven-pair U11 Girls’ Doubles draw, beating Saachi Sinai Kenkre and Yashika Koneru 30–7 in the final at 4:26 pm on 9 August. The unseeded pair won all three matches without dropping a game, finishing with 90 points won and 12 conceded across 34 minutes on court.

The knockout began with a quarterfinal bye for Adhira Jadhav and Elena Fernandes, while three matches were played. Amaira and Anvitha produced the sharpest scoreline, defeating Ananya Prabhudessai and Riyana Santarita Vas 30–1 in 10 minutes. Saachi and Yashika beat Pavi Nair and Shreenika Desai 30–18 in the round’s longest match, an 18-minute contest, while Oorvi Khyalia and Samaira Velip defeated Nupur Jogdand and Shanaya Sah 30–7.

In the semifinals, Amaira and Anvitha beat the bye-advanced Adhira and Elena 30–4. Saachi and Yashika followed with a 30–12 win over Oorvi and Samaira. That result carried the draw’s notable shape: Saachi and Yashika were the only pair to win a match and then reach the final after overcoming a recorded two-point deficit, and their three matches consumed 45 minutes—the longest road in the event.

The final was decisive, giving Amaira and Anvitha six wins from six games. Across the completed draw, all 12 games were settled in two, with no deciders, walkovers or retirements. The title therefore belonged to the only pair that never allowed the bracket to become complicated: three straight wins, a clean 6–0 game record and an unseeded championship run.
