Sudhanva Udupa vs Ashmeet Parsekar

Qualifying Round 1 · Match #7 · Court 1 · Fri, Aug 7, 5:28 PM

Summary

Sudhanva Udupa Turns a 0–4 Start Into a Straight-Games Win

Ashmeet Parsekar began with four unanswered rallies, but Sudhanva Udupa recovered immediately and levelled the opening game at 4–4. From there, the first game became a prolonged exchange of small leads: 10–10, 12–12 and 17–17 all appeared before Udupa took the last two rallies to win 19–17.

The decisive shift came in the second game. Parsekar again led after the interval, reaching 8–5, but Udupa erased the deficit and moved ahead 10–8. At 10–10, Udupa produced the match’s clearest scoring run, taking five consecutive rallies to close out a 15–10 game and a 2–0 victory.

The numbers show how narrow the first game was and how sharply the ending separated them. Udupa won 34 points to Parsekar’s 27, with his longest streak reaching seven rallies; Parsekar’s best run was four. Udupa also won 12 of 19 clutch rallies, compared with Parsekar’s seven, a difference that mattered most after the opening game stayed level so often.

Parsekar made Udupa work for the result, especially in the first game and early in the second. But after recovering from a four-point opening deficit in game one, Udupa never surrendered a lead, then finished the match with five straight points. He advances from Qualifying Round 1 after 20 minutes on Court 1.
