Divyam Singh Splits U9 Campaign After a 25-Minute Decider
Divyam Singh’s tournament ended after 51 minutes on court, spread across two singles events and three matches. His U11 Boys’ Singles campaign began on 7 August against second seed Aariketh Chari, a 2–15, 4–15 defeat that lasted 11 minutes. With only six points, Singh’s rally detail is thin, but he won six of 29 recorded receives and did not win any of his seven recorded serves.
Two days later, Singh opened his U9 Boys’ Singles run by beating Angad Sawaikar 15–10, 15–9 in 15 minutes. That was his clearest result of the tournament: 30 points for and 19 against, with 17 of 20 recorded receives won. The later loss to Rafael Anacleto De Ataide was a much longer test. Singh took the first game 15–12, dropped the second 8–15 and lost the decider 11–15 after 25 minutes.
The U9 match also carried the campaign’s biggest rally sample. Singh won 13 of 22 recorded clutch rallies, compared with 21 of 54 baseline rallies, and overcame a deficit of three points. Across the event, however, his match starts were uneven: he won only 10 of 25 recorded opening-game rallies, while winning 26 of 50 in the final games. That late-game improvement could not overturn the decider.
His two U9 matches were separated by 234 minutes, giving Singh a substantial gap between the win and the three-game finish. He leaves the tournament with a 1–2 record, a win in U9 and an early U11 exit, while the available data show a player whose stronger closing numbers were not enough to carry the longer match.
